Refundable Fares
Certain fare options, such as Flexirefund and Businessflexi, allow cancellations
with a refund. However, cancellation fees may still apply.
Non-Refundable Fares
Most lower-priced fares are non-refundable. If canceled before departure, they
may be converted into a travel credit. Passengers who do not show up for their
flight usually lose the full ticket value.
24-Hour Cooling-Off Period
If you book at least seven days before departure, you can cancel within 24 hours
for a full refund.
Using Travel Credits
Credits from canceled non-refundable fares can be used for new flight bookings,
seat upgrades, extra baggage, or flights with partner airlines.
Requesting Refunds
Refunds are returned to the original payment method. If part of the fare was
paid using credits, that portion will be refunded as credit. All refunds are
subject to the fare rules.
Compassionate Refunds
In cases of bereavement or serious medical emergencies, Air New Zealand may
approve partial refunds.
How to Cancel or Request a Refund
Cancellations and refund requests can be made online, through Air New Zealand’s
customer service, or via the travel agent who issued the ticket.
