Auckland Airport is located about 21 km (13 miles) from city centre. Taxis,
airport express bus (SkyDrive), airport shuttle, town buses and train options for travel to and from Airport are available.
Taxis and Shuttle
Taxis and shuttle companies are able to drop you off at the airport, however
only licensed companies are able to pick you up from the designated taxi ranks
at the terminal buildings. Taxi and shuttle ranks are located outside the
arrivals area (door 8) at the international terminal and outside door 4 at the
domestic terminal. You can pre-book with one of the companies listed below or
just turn up at the terminal ranks – taxis and shuttles are operates 24 hours
daily.
It takes about NZ$38 - NZ$50 and about 30 minutes to get to downtown. And it may take
you a long time and the fare may be up to NZ$90 during the rush hours from the
airport to downtown by taking a taxi. For specific fare pricing, contact the
taxi and shuttle companies directly.
Airport Bus
SkyDrive (operated by Ritchies Transport) offers an express shuttle service
between Auckland Airport and SkyCity in Central Auckland. The first bus leaves
the SkyCity bus terminal at 5:00 am, direct to the Airport. Buses run every 30
minutes with the last bus from the domestic terminal at 10:30 pm. Airport to city
center (Sky Tower @ SkyCity) take approximately
30-60 min.
Times can vary depending on traffic conditions.
Bus tickets may be purchased directly from the bus driver (card payment only),
or via the SkyDrive website at skydrive.co.nz.

Route 31 Bus
Route 31 is a frequent bus service that operates every 15 minutes from 7.00 am
to 7.00 pm daily. Outside of these hours it runs every 30 minutes.
The 31 bus travels between Botany Town Centre and Mangere Town Centre via the
Papatoetoe Train Station. The bus also runs via Otara Interchange (MIT campus),
Hunters Corner and Papatoetoe Train Station (on Shirley Rd opposite the
station).
You can use the 31 bus to connect to the 380 Airporter service at Papatoetoe
Train Station (on Shirley Rd next to the station) or Mangere Town Centre.
380 Airporter
The bright orange 380 Airporter bus operates between Onehunga, Mangere Town
Centre, and Manukau, via Papatoetoe and Onehunga Train Stations.
It operates every 15 to 20 minutes daily.
It stops at bus stops located outside both the domestic and international
terminals at Auckland Airport.
Train Option (via Papatoetoe Train Station)
You can catch a train from anywhere along the Southern, Eastern and Onehunga
train Lines and connect at Papatoetoe Train Station to the 380 Airporter bus to
the airport.
Trains run between 5.00 am – 10.00 pm (approximately) with later evening
services on Fridays.
