Lake Tekapo Airport
Lake Tekapo Airport (IATA: N/A, ICAO: NZTL) is a Non-Certificated Airport 1.5
NM (2.8 km; 1.7 mi) west of Lake Tekapo township in the Mackenzie District of
the South Island in New Zealand. The airport was constructed by Air Safaris in
1974 for scenic charter flights over the Southern Alps. The Lake Tekapo Airport
is privately operated by Air Safaris.
Movements restricted to paved areas. Non-standard RWY markings for Air Safaris
reference and use only.
The airfield is also available by prior arrangement for other commercial
activity such as filming, research projects etc. Access is direct off State
Highway 8, 4 km south of the Lake Tekapo Township.
The airport resides at an elevation of 2,496 ft (760 m) above mean sea level. It
has one runway designated 11/29 with Bitumen surface measuring 3,116 feet (950
m) in length.
