The Thames Aerodrome serves the town of Thames, in the Waikato region of the
North Island of New Zealand. It is 3km south of the town in the suburb of Rhodes
Park. The Aerodrome is named in honour of former Thames resident Air Chief
Marshal Sir Keith Park, Commander of 11 Group Fighter Command during the Battle
of Britain.
The airport resides at an elevation of 10 feet (3 m) above mean sea level. It
has one runway designated 14/32 with gravel surface measuring 3,648 feet (1,112
m) in length.
The Aerodrome is control and managed by Thames-Coromandel District Council. No
commercial scheduled flights available in this Aerodrome.
