New Zealand Transit Visa Policy
NewZealandAirport.com » New Zealand Transit Visa Policy
If you’ll be passing through New Zealand as a transit passenger, you’ll need to
apply for a Transit Visa before you travel. You can only transit New Zealand
through Auckland
International Airport. Whether you need a transit visa, check on the
New Zealand Visa Policy.
Eligible passengers who are transiting through Auckland
International Airport for less
than 24 hours, and not leaving the transit area of the airport, do not need a
Transit Visa. Eligible passengers are:
• Visa-waiver country citizens
• All passengers whose next legal destination is Australia
• Citizens of one of the following countries, which are exempt from transit visa
requirements: Bahamas, Bermuda, Bolivia, Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador,
Indonesia, Kiribati, Marshall Islands, Micronesia, Nauru, Palau, Panama, Papua
New Guinea, Paraguay, Peru, Philippines, Samoa, Solomon Islands, Thailand,
Tonga, Tuvalu, Vanuatu and Venezuela.
To transit New Zealand on your way to Australia without first applying for a
Transit Visa, you’ll need to have a valid
Australian visa (if you’re not already
waived from having a Transit Visa).
