Auckland Airport » Duty Free
You can only make duty free purchases if you are travelling internationally.
Therefore, you must present valid evidence of this, such as your passport and
travel ticket, when purchasing duty free items in Airport.
You will have to pay GST and duty (where applicable) if your duty-free items or
other goods purchased overseas cost more than NZ$700 in total.
This does not apply to tobacco and alcohol, which have different limits. If
you're travelling with other people, you can't combine your $700 concessions.
Aelia Duty Free
The international terminal in Auckland Airport has three
Aelia Duty Free stores, offering tax and
duty free shopping.
For departing travellers, the main store is straight after security, and a
smaller store at the top of the escalator just before the gates.
For arrivals, Aelia Duty Free store is located before Customs and the baggage
claim area.
All Aelia Duty Free stores are currently open at times aligned to departing and
arriving flight schedules.
